Therapy for:
I am a fully qualified, accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am listed on the BACP register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I fully abide by the BACP code of ethics in my counselling practice, you can find more information about this here.
I have been working with individual clients for more than 13 years, 11 years of this has been in private practice. I have a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative counselling. I have also undertaken further short courses and training in working with relationship and couples issues, attachment, trauma and dissociation, Mindfulness and CBT. I am committed to my continuing professional development and attend training events and conferences relevant to my areas of work and interest.
I am able to use a variety of approaches within my work, depending on your needs. I have worked with many different people experiencing different life challenges; I treat each person I work with as an individual and my aim is to work together with you to enable you to gain insight, work through difficulties and ultimately move forward with your life.
While I have 13 years experience of working with individuals on relationship issues, I am now also in the early stages of training to be a relationship (couples) therapist, alongside my individual work.
I have a background in social care and education and prior to training as a therapist I spent several years working with vulnerable groups including individuals with learning disabilities, autism and young people.
As well as my private practice, I also have extensive experience of working with Employee Assistance Programs and I have previously spent several years working in university counselling services with both students and staff.
